Core Values

Teach For Transformation (A Commitment To The Scripture)

We teach and preach with our primary emphasis on scriptural truth and commitment to allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our lives as we willing yield ourselves to obeying the word and will of God.

We believe in the inerrant and infallibility of Gods word and trust his inspired truth to teach us and conform us to the image of Christ.  Knowing these truths, we witness this transforming power in all who seek him.

Prayer

We are humbled that our Father hears our prayers, desires our fellowship, and opens the door of heaven to allow his people an audience.

We believe at Riverstone that God is not impressed with formal prayers with lofty spiritual overtones, but that he desires to hear the heartfelt cry of his people. We believe prayer is an essential part of the believer’s life and we are committed to engaging believers in a life of prayer without ceasing.  Come let us pray saying, “Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayer in this place”. 2Ch 6:40

People Matter To God

Christianity is not about church buildings, famous archeological discoveries, or future predictions of how the world will end! Christianity is about God and his people! God became man, so that man can be reconciled to God and in so doing he is seeking fellowship with his people.

Riverstone Community Church believes that people matter to God! We want you to know that no matter where you are in life; GOD WANTS YOU! He wants to know you and engage in a daily walk with you. That’s right with you! Be encouraged and know that if God is for us, who can be against us!

Full Devotion To Christ Is The Norm

A deep and meaningful relationship with Christ is God’s plan for your life. As we grow and mature as believers, our complete and total devotion to our savior is the normal and desired goal of his people. Many believers never reach their desired walk with Christ because modern religion has made Christianity into a social, club like addition to your life.

Riverstone knows that the only way we can individually experience a Christ filled life is through total surrender! Now some may erroneously think this sounds like a dull, or restrictive lifestyle, but in fact surrendering to the Lordship of Christ liberates the believer and frees him from religious slavery!  Don’t be fooled by religion, be free in Christ.

Authenticity

Its been said that many Christians seem fake or phony. Did you know that is actually true! In fact, unless we have a mature walk with Christ, we will pretend to be someone we are not. While we may fool some, God is never fooled by counterfeit Christianity and you know rarely are those who do not profess to know Christ.

God is looking for the “genuine article”, no fakes, no counterfeits, no phony religiosity, but the real deal!

We are committed to a dynamic ministry that promotes genuine faith, purpose, and the freedom to be who you are full of Christ. That’s not to say this will be a perfect fellowship, we are fallible people, but we promise to strive to be the real thing in public and in private! If you are looking for a place to serve the Lord, with people who also desire to see something real and meaningful then Riverstone may be your home.

Simplicity In Structure

Did you ever hear the phrase “you can get lost in the shuffle”? We think that families are getting lost in the shuffle of today’s modern church era. With mandate like requirements to attend every time the doors are open or risk being labeled as uncommitted, or even worse...we think that this regime of activity has become a distraction to actually developing meaningful relationships with Christ and with other believers.

We are committed to a simplistic church structure that promotes family growth, individual maturity, and a passion to know Christ intimately. We encourage the use of spiritual gifts within the body, growing in faith, and reaching the world with the Gospel message.

Don ’t get lost in the shuffle, come with us on a journey where you and your family will grow in grace.

Servant Leadership

Did you know that in the Christian life there are no “sidelines”? We are all key players in the proverbial game, no second string, no fans, just participants. The Apostle Paul said “though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more...”

We at Riverstone know that every person is important to the body of Christ. We want all believers to participate in the game of life and to use the gifts that God has given them. For this reason, we all participate, we all go the extra mile, and we all serve.  There are no elevated positions in kingdom work, everyone serves the King of Kings and we want you to join us in serving with great joy!

Reopening Starting Stone, Toddler And Nursery Ministry - July 12, 2020

We are continuing to Watch And Pray, as we get closer to re-opening our Starting Stone, Toddler and Nursery Ministry on Sunday, July 12. We are taking every precaution in order to make sure that your child is safe and secure so that they might simply learn about our Lord Jesus and His Word, with no risk to their physical health. Should you have any questions or concern please, by all means, reach out to our Starting Stone Directors, Tina Runkles or Aleshia Rigdon. They will help you in any way possible.

OPEN CALL FOR BAPTISM - July 19, 2020

Have  you trusted Jesus, and  followed Him in believer’s baptism? I pray so. If not, would you simply ask Him into your heart. Once you’ve given your life to Him, would you prayerfully consider being scripturally baptized?

What is Baptism? Baptism is simply our public acknowledgement of a private decision that we have previously made to trust Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.

To understand Baptism, we need to look no further than the example of Jesus, as He was obedient to the Father in all things, including BAPTISM. This beautiful scene is recorded for us by none other than Dr. Luke. As always, paying attention to every detail, as any wonderful physician would, he writes to us in his Gospel, Chapter 3, verses 21-22:

“Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”

How great is this scene? The baptism of Jesus was the first public declaration of His ministry. Jesus went to the river and identified Himself with those who were repenting of sin. At the age of 12, He visited the temple and knew His mission. Eighteen years later, at His baptism, He began carrying it out. All three persons of the Trinity, together at once! God the Son (incarnation), being baptized, God the Holy Spirit (the coming Comforter), descending upon Him like a dove, God the Father (the Eternal Almighty), breaking into human history, and proclaiming, “thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”

On Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 10:30 AM, we will baptize anyone that wishes to be scripturally baptized. All you need to do is bring a pair of shorts, or bathing suit, a tee shirt, and be ready to be baptized at the close of our worship service. What a day that will be!

Riverstone Relaunch: Countdown is on

As we prepare for our return to Riverstone to gather together IN PERSON, here are some things you should know:

1 - Your Parking; Our "Security Team" will be ready to meet you, greet you, and park you, when you return to Riverstone! Our team will even “Socially Distance” your car with wider areas between vehicles.

2 - Your Entrance; Our “Greeter Team” will welcome you back to your church. Albeit, it will be from a safe distance. The day will come when we will be able to once again hug necks, and shake hands, but that day is not May 31st. We will want to look out for one another and give each other a little space.

3 - Masks And Gloves; If you are comfortable wearing a mask and possibly, gloves, that is a very good thing. However, they are not mandatory and you need to know that many will more than likely choose not to do so.

4 - Sanitization; In addition to our “Housekeeping Team” deep cleaning our building, you’ll also find hand sanitizing stations as you enter our lobby, as well as our auditorium.

5 - Hospitality; The day will come that we are once again able to enjoy coffee and breakfast foods but that day is not May 31st. Until the time is right, we will forego these things with the safety and good health of our fellow “Stonians,” as our highest priority.

6 - Our Overflow Room; Our dining room will be set up for parents of nursery and toddler age children that want to be together for worship but do not necessarily feel comfortable being with a larger crowd in the auditorium. We have new seating and the monitors will give you great coverage of our worship service.

7 - Nurseries, Toddlers, Children, SWAG, And Students; For the time being, all of these ministries will be closed and each of them are invited to be a part of our 10:30 worship service. We will monitor everything each week and determine the absolute best time to return each of these groups to their respective ministries. Hopefully, it will only be a few weeks. In the meantime, the Children’s Ministry will continue to use Facebook and You Tube videos to communicate with our children. SWAG and Student Ministry will utilize the same, along with ZOOM.

8 - Our Worship Service; You can expect wonderful praise and worship, as well as “Powerful Preaching!” That will not change. What will be adjusted is more space and room between seats, a temporary cancellation of our “Welcome Time,” and a bit more consciousness of our interaction with each other in the auditorium. Greeters wearing gloves, will open and close doors for you as you enter and exit the auditorium.

9 - Exiting The Stone; We simply encourage you to be mindful of others as you leave. There will come a day that we can hang out and fellowship inside and outside of the building as good “Stonians” do, but that day is not May 31st. When the service concludes, let’s try and contain our excitement of being back together (you can let it out and shout when you get in your vehicle) and move along to our parking lots.

There is much more being done to ensure that our “Riverstone Relaunch” is a great and safe success but these are just a few of the things that will help you feel comfortable and at home in your church! Each of you have been GREATLY missed and we very much looking forward to seeing you live and in person on May 31st!

Staying Connected at Riverstone

During this time, many people are feeling disconnected in so many ways, but we want to remind you that we are here for you! We know that God's Word tells us in Matthew 18:20 that Where two or more have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.

There are many ways to stay virtually connected through our various ministry opportunities here at Riverstone Community Church and we would LOVE to see and hear from you. If you are not currently in fellowship with one of our communities below, we encourage you to reach out to the leader of the ministry that best meets your needs.
