Joshua 1:9, Joshua 1:16-17, Joshua 1:11

 

Joshua was a wise man.

 

  He was spiritually minded (Numbers 14:8)

  He had Godly reverence (Joshua 3:5)

 

Joshua was a warrior man.

 

  He had great courage (Joshua 10:25)

  He had divine obedience (Joshua 11:5)

 

 

I.   An Appeal Is Presented (v. 14)

 

      A.  Fear The Lord (v. 14) Job 1:1, Hebrews 11:7, Proverbs 1:7

 

      B.  Serve The Lord (v. 14)

 

      C.  Put Away False Gods (v. 14) Exodus 20:1-3, Hebrews 12:1-2

 

II.  An Alternative Is Provided (v. 15a.) Deuteronomy 30:19, 1 Kings 18:21

 

III. An Affirmation Is Proclaimed (vv. 15b.-17)

 

      A.  Joshua Decided For Himself (v. 15b.)

 

             a.  decision means position is professed (v. 15b.)

 

             b.  decision saves many from temptation (v. 15b.)

 

      B.  Joshua Decided For His House (v. 15-17)

Joshua never regretted his decision to go all out for God.  His life was the personification of decisiveness!

Boxed rice Can and dry milk
Pasta sauce Peanut Butter
